Childhood should feel like childhood

Children at La Casita spend their days talking, creating, imagining, moving, exploring, eating together, learning new skills, and building relationships. Our program provides a predictable daily rhythm without trying to make young children sit through a school day. There is time for purposeful learning—and plenty of time to play.

Spanish Immersion

Spanish is woven throughout the La Casita day through conversation, stories, songs, music, play, routines, and teacher-led learning activities. Children are encouraged to understand and communicate in Spanish naturally as their skills develop. We welcome children from Spanish-speaking, bilingual, and English-speaking homes. No prior Spanish experience is required.

Early Learning

Our preschool program supports the skills children will need for kindergarten and beyond while respecting how young children actually learn. Learning experiences include:

• early literacy and language development

• early math and problem-solving

• science and exploration

• art and creative expression

• music and movement

• fine and gross motor development

• social-emotional learning

• independence and everyday life skills

Whenever possible, early learning is integrated with Spanish so children develop language and foundational academic skills together.

Play Matters

Play is an essential part of learning. Through play, children practice communicating, negotiating with friends, solving problems, developing language, taking healthy risks, using their imagination, and making sense of the world around them. Children have opportunities each day for both teacher-guided activities and child-directed play.

Outdoor Time & Movement

Young children need to move. Outdoor play is a regular part of the La Casita day whenever weather and conditions allow. Children have opportunities to run, climb, explore, play games, and spend time outside. Indoor movement and gross-motor activities are incorporated when outdoor play is not practical.

Meals Together

Meals and snacks are part of the rhythm of our day and another opportunity for children to practice conversation, independence, and community. La Casita provides planned meals and snacks in accordance with program policies and applicable childcare food requirements. Families should share allergies, dietary needs, or medical food requirements during enrollment so we can determine how they can be safely accommodated.

Consistency Families Can Plan Around

La Casita operates according to a published annual calendar so families can plan ahead for holidays, vacation periods, and scheduled closures.

Families may enroll under school-year, summer-only or year-round care arrangements, subject to availability.

Program hours, scheduled closures, tuition policies, and other important expectations are provided in advance so families know what to expect.

Celebrations & Community

Birthdays, holidays, seasonal activities, and La Casita traditions help turn a group of children into a community. Throughout the year, children may participate in special celebrations, family activities, performances, and our summer celebration and graduation. We want children to leave La Casita remembering not only what they learned, but how it felt to belong here.
